...we are 1 day away!

Please forward this to teammates, friends and family that are attending this weekend.

A few of us got started on the Rogue pullup Rig yesterday and we just wanted to say, wow. It's really badass. Here's a sneak look at the build:

Weather: We've heard from a few of you that weather is a concern and rightly so. It's going to rain a bit, so be prepared. We do not have any plans to relocate the competition. Game on, business as usual.

Directions: We recommend that you Google the Fairgrounds for diving instructions so here we've done it for you. Gate D is the best place to enter because that will put you near the venue. Keep in mind that Gate D is on Monterey Rd. You cannot make a left hand turn into Gate D from Monterey. Instead, you will need to continue on Monterey and make a u-turn on Umbarger. Purchase the 3 day parking pass. It will cost you $15.

Nerby Food: The venue is just a block or so from Starbucks at 175 Curtner Avenue and other shopping options. You'll have two nearby Whole Foods options 1690 South Bascom Avenue, Campbell, CA 95008 (4 miles) and 1146 Blossom Hill Road, San Jose, CA 95118 (4 miles).

Reebok will stock the Athlete tent with fruit, water and Paelo snacks.

See you at the Arena!

Welcome to the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games – Nor Cal Regionals!

Congratulations on your many accomplishments during the year and especially during the 2011 CrossFit Games Open Sectionals competition. Your hard work and, ultimately, your performance earned you the right to compete among the top athletes in the world. As most of you are well aware, the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games will be held in Carson, CA on July 29-31. We will be back at The Home Depot Center, on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills for our second year. The 2011 Reebok Nor Cal Regional is your final step on the ‘Road to Carson’.

Important logistics for you to know

The Nor Cal Regional competition will take place beginning this Friday in San Jose, CA at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.  Click here for driving directionsAthlete registration is scheduled for Friday morning from 7-8:30 am. Please enter theFairgrounds at Gate D and follow the signs to Athlete Registration.  This early entry is for athletes only.  Please invite coaches, family and friends to arrive early and set up Tent City (just outside of the venue) or to arrive at 9:30 when the main gate opens. Parking is $15 total for a 3-day pass (or $10 per day) and we have negotiated for you to have in-and-out privileges during the event.

Competition Director Austin Begiebing and Head Judge Joe Ball will brief all athletes from 9-9:30 am. You will gather at 9:45 am and prepare to be introduced at an Opening Ceremony scheduled for 10:00 am.  The competition will begin at 10:30 am.  See below for the full event timeline.

At the Athlete Registration gate you will check-in, receive your bib number (written on your leg and arm) and receive your credentials for the weekend. Each athlete will receive one additional 3-day entrance pass to the event.  This is for a coach, family member or friend. Remember a 3-day spectator pass is only $25 and children ages 12 and under get in free.

Once checked-in you will be greeted by Reebok staff, receive your goody bag (a bit of schwag) and you will have a chance to check out the Reebok athlete tent and the competition area. This will be your chance to survey the grounds, check-in at or claim your Tent City location and begin preparation for the weekend. Take note of where you enter the venue because this is where you will return when it is time to gather for the 9:00 am briefing.

Weekend Details

Family and Friends
Family and friends may enter the Fairgrounds at the Gate B or Gate D. They should follow the signs to General Parking. Venue gates open to the public Friday at 9:30 am and on Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 am. Please direct your family and friends to follow signs to “Tickets” and “Will Call”. If they have pre-purchased a 3-day pass from the CrossFit Games website, their name will be on a list and they should check-in and receive their wrist-bad at Will Call. They may also purchase a 3-day pass for $25 or a daily ticket for $10.

Attention Parents!
We hope that this is a weekend that you will be able to enjoy with your family. We’ve heard that this is important to many of you, so we are building a Family Pavilion that will include a shade structure, a kids obstacle course and a few jumpee attractions for the youngsters. The Family Pavilion will be open all day Saturday and Sunday.

Day Camping
Day Camping will be allowed and we have a space that is in excellent proximity to the venue!

Food and Drinks
What's a CrossFit event without good food and drink?  Keep in mind we have worked very hard to create a menu for all of you, which will include tri-tip, sausages, lettuce-wrapped burgers and wraps and grilled veggies. Our caterer has worked with us to make sure the food items are both yummy and affordable. We recognize that you may have your game day meals planned but also ask that you encourage our community to support this offering. Bud and Bud Light will be flowing for your pals along with Sierra Nevada, Pear Cider and red and white wine.   Spectators will not be allowed to bring alcohol into the venue, however small amounts of food are ok.

Crush It
We sincerely appreciate what you bring to this community. Both as an athlete and an ambassador representing this thing we all do. We admire what you bring to this sport. See you in the Arena!
